It’s not easy to share about, but in this interview below I open up about my experience of surviving ten years of isolation and domestic abuse. The timeline is a little blurry, the locations I was kept at and which order they go in are a little fuzzy, but the emotions and the belittling and the terror of everyday life are still sharp in my mind and in my body. My being remembers what it’s like to feel deathly afraid of the very same person you make dinner for and share a bed with. I treaded each day like I was walking on a glass floor that could crack and cave in at any minute, all while trying to keep my two daughters from falling in with me.
